Fighting Loneliness, Finding Healing
• Glenn Greiner • Series: Peace in the Chaos
Matthew 8:28-30 Loneliness is not an indication of our unworthiness. Loneliness is a signal telling us we have an unmet need for connection. 1. God provides healing through our relationships. Hebrews 10:23-25 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Galatians 6:2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 2. Find rest for your soul in Jesus. 3. What does it mean to “yoke up” with Jesus? a. Shift your focus 1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. b. Cast down your cares and anxiety. You may have to force yourself to connect with Jesus. God’s faithfulness can’t be measured by your feelings. c. Build trusting relationships. Jesus Himself needed the support of His closest friends. What is your next step? Who are you going to share your life with?
